I joined Southlands School as a Foundation governor in February 2013. I work for Isos Housing Limited as Executive Director, Customer and Communities. I have extensive knowledge of social housing having worked in the sector, across the North East, for over 30 years.
Part of my role is to engage with local communities by involving local people. Many of the communities I work with are disadvantaged and are suffering from financial hardship. My team work with their residents by developing projects which help build their capacity, self-esteem and skills so that they can have the confidence to enter the job market. Much of the work is done by working in partnership with schools and delivering a number of these projects in the classroom.
I am a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and I was a member of Northumbria Policy Authority for 10 years.
